The Shanghai connection

Dutch version

Ze wilde me ontmoeten.

English version

A lot of years ago I registered on a Chinese (dating) site. Last saturday I received a mail at 12 o'clock. A woman called Wang said she was in Amsterdam at the time. She wanted to meet with me. She came from Shanghai, was 49 years old, and very pretty. I replied that I didn't feel much like traveling, because I had a toothache. I also asked her 2 things. First I wanted to know how long she would stay in A'dam, because I preferred to go there on sunday or monday. The other question had to do with her profile. She wrote that she didn't want to move outside of China. But I don't want to live in China. Suppose we would fall in love, then we would have a big problem. At 2 o'clock she replied again. She said I could immediately come to A'dam, and then return on monday. She also told me her telephone number. Her information made me feel somewhat stresses and irritated. If I'm not at home, I must bring a lot of things with me, for example some medical ointments. I thought it was already getting late, and I would definitely forget something. Because she didn't answer my second question, I thought her intentions weren't honest. I didn't want to call her, because her English was miserable. Therefore I informed her through the site that I could come to A'dam on sunday. Then I went to play taiji. When I returned home, she hadn't replied to my mail yet. At that time I decided I really didn't want to meet her. Therefore I sent her another mail. Later I discussed this event with some friends. One of them said, that her appearance didn't fit a 49 years old person. The background in her picture also wasn't Shanghai, but some other city. We thing she wasn't honest.
